Materials used in rinsing

Stainless steel is the most popular choice in material for sinks. It 'easy to install and easy. Furthermore, it is easy to maintain. The shape of the steel determines the quality of the material. 08 JunThinking Big in Small Spaces – Interior Design For Smaller Rooms

We all secretly crave the large and airy rooms we see in those glossy interior design magazines but how can we go about achieving that when we have the daily clutter to deal with and a spaghetti junction of wiring for the TV and home cinema system? Smaller rooms do have a plus point; they can be cosy and quaint which may be a distinct advantage in the bedroom but they do not ooze the glamour of those larger rooms.

One solution is to have a rethink around your house and maybe instigate a radical relocation plan. Use the proportions of the room as the guiding factor and you might eradicate that problem altogether. Larger rooms do tend to attract more clutter – people with smaller living spaces do have to be that little bit more disciplined in what they keep around the house and how they store those items. It may sound a disadvantage but there is something to be said for removing everything you do not use regularly and to live your life simply, free from the clutter of extraneous objects.

Here are some suggestions to help you think big:

Lighten your walls with pale tints of receding colours such as blue, green and lilac. Red and orange are advancing colours and should be avoided if you want to maximise your feeling of space.
Borrow space by visually linking rooms together. You can achieve this by allowing neutral colours and floors to flow between adjacent rooms and keep open or remove internal doors to allow views of other spaces.
Bounce light around a room with mirrors and reflective surfaces. This works well in kitchens and small bathrooms where mirrored tiles and shiny splashbacks fit into the scheme.
Banish clutter with cupboards and sideboards with built-in storage space. Solid wood furniture works well here as it has a unique feel that lends a natural warmth to any living space. Look out for oak coffee tables and oak sideboards – both look stylish and desirable yet they are functional too.
Hide those TV cables with a TV cupboard made from a natural solid wood. Minimalist designs are great but they can make it difficult to hide all those power leads.
Think about what the eye sees when you enter a room. Avoid tall wall units in your direct field of vision and go with the coffee tables and sideboards mentioned earlier. These items of furniture take the visual clutter away from your immediate view. This also broadens your horizons, so to speak.
Use uplighters in your lighting scheme. Their vertical beams of light make a room seem taller and take attention away from its immediate dimensions.
Create a focal point in your room. An oak coffee table does a great job here – it is low so it avoids your immediate eye level, but it adds a real sense of style and comfort to the room once you are sitting down. It takes attention away from the edges of the limited dimensions of the room.

Many of the suggestions above are just optical tricks but they have been used successfully by interior designers for many years. If you want to make the most of the spaces you have, follow their lead and start thinking big.

05 JunMechanic’s Liens – Friday’s Free Form – Notice of Intent to Lien – General Contractor

How many times have you been in this situation: You are owed money on a construction project and are thinking of filing a mechanic’s lien. But you know that after filing it there will begin a serious dispute process, and probably involving the hiring of lawyers on each side. You would like to send a notice to the other side telling them that if it is not paid, more serious steps will be taken. Well, there is a form to be used in this situation. In my experience, this is a very popular form–so much so we would like to make it available to the construction industry.

This form below warns the owner that you will be filing a mechanic’s lien if payment is not made within ten days. Hopefully, it will create a serious dialogue for settlement. Come up with your bottom line amount to settle and be prepared to offer it to the owner if he or she is negotiating in good faith. Remember that the last thing an owner wants is a lien on their property: it jeopardizes title, interferes with their relationship with the construction lender, and prevents refinancing or sale. This Notice is worded in a non-threatening manner so as to capitalize on this situation, with the owner knowing that you are required by law to file a lien within a set period of time or lose your lien rights.

WHO CAN USE THIS FORM? All persons, whether general contractor, subcontractor, or supplier.

HOW TO SERVE: There is no need to file this with the court or record with the recorder’s office. It is simply served by mailing.

WHO TO SERVE: If you are a general contractor, serve the owner and construction lender. If you are a subcontractor or supplier, serve the owner, general, and construction lender.

HOW TO SERVE: Although not required, it is recommended for its effectiveness to be served by certified mail.

WHEN: Serve ten days before you file or record the mechanic’s lien. Remember, it does not extend the time to file a mechanic’s lien.

NOTARIZED? No.

COPIES: The original signed copies are served. Keep an extra copy for your records.

CERTIFICATE OF MAILING. Use a standard Proof of Service form. Sign this Proof (it is like a certificate of mailing) and staple it to the form so you have proof it was mailed to the various persons or entities.

MARGINS AND FONT. This is a Word document so use the following margins so it prints out properly: Top: 18 pt; Bottom: 22 pt; Left: 58 pt; Right: 58 pt. Type size is 12.

HOW TO USE? Cut and paste the form into a new Word document.

03 JunWanted – Angelina Jolie – A Movie Review

BOTTOM LINE: The stylish, comic book action is fun for a while but this well cast film is ridiculous and stupid, wearing out its welcome about half way through its running time.

THE GOOD: There’s a stylish, comic book action quality to “Wanted” that throws you off a little bit when you first see it but then becomes quite fun as the story develops. The idea of a secret fraternity of assassins is a cool place to start an action film, and the filmmakers have another ace in the hole by selecting a stellar cast to populate the assassin characters. James McAvoy stars as Wesley Gibson, an average guy, stuck in a dead end job, his best friend is having an affair with his girlfriend and his life is generally going nowhere. His life takes a dramatic turn when one of the assassins from the fraternity tries to kill him but is saved by Fox (played by a very cool Angelina Jolie). She brings him to meet Sloan (played enigmatically by Morgan Freeman) who tells Wesley that he is destined to be an assassin. After going through the requisite training, Wesley becomes a very talented assassin but becomes embroiled in a plot where nothing is as it seems to be. The best parts of this film relate to its premise and action sequences. The film is fast and furious, with fast editing, fast action, and well choreographed stunts. One assassination where Wesley kills his target by getting his car flipped over the top of the target’s sun-roof is particularly fun. It’s great to see Morgan Freeman actually playing a villain; he delivers a rather understated, but ruthless performance. The film never drops its pace while offering some moments of comedy in between the big action sequences; the best moment comes when Wesley returns to his apartment to get his father’s gun and his girlfriend starts telling him how much of a loser he is. Fox walks in and start kissing Wesley passionately, much to his girlfriend’s dismay and jealousy.

THE BAD: “Wanted” has an adolescent thrill that is okay for the first half hour but it quickly degenerates in to complete stupidity. The basic premise for the whole film is the assassins choose targets based on the names generated from a weaving in a textile fabric that is randomly generated at their hideout. In essence, those targets are based on fate. On first glance, it’s hard to see how a group of otherwise intelligent people would be naïve enough to believe in this ideal for a thousand years without the possibility of corruption (as happens in the film). It’s even more incredible that none of the assassins, until Wesley shows up, ever question Sloan’s credibility given he’s the only one who ever has access to the weaving room that generates the names of the targets. The film’s problems unfortunately do not end there. James McAvoy is a solid actor but even he cannot elevate the pathetic direction his character is given in the first half of the film. I wanted to shoot him; but even if you can stand to watch him being such a walk-over loser, the film expects you to believe that he could go from that character to one of the most lethal assassins in history in just six weeks. Once he becomes the assassin he’s quite cool but his character and development is ridiculous. Angelina Jolie is lethal and cool in this film, but she isn’t given much to do aside from look hot and kick ass in the action sequences. Terence Stamp surprisingly appears midway through the film and is excellent, but you have to wonder why he agreed to be in this ridiculous adolescent fantasy; he just doesn’t fit in. Even Morgan Freeman, who is for the most part great, delivers a speech at the end of the film where he does not look all that natural. The action sequences, which are the biggest selling point in this film, become more and more ridiculous as the film progresses. The train sequence is perhaps the worst culprit when it derails on a bridge going over a massive gorge. Train cars hang off the bridge and people shoot at each other as each train car plummets in to the gorge; it’s fun but it’s over the top. Perhaps the worst thing of all is the last shot in the film; Wesley gives a speech about how pointless his life used to be and how all of us are now suffering what he used to suffer. His choice was to do something about it and now he lives the exciting life of an assassin. He turns to the camera and says, “what have you done lately?” Ordinarily, the point would have been absolutely true, but considering the film is so stupid and the delivery of his speech so condescending, the question he poses is like a slap in the face rather than a revelation. At that point, I almost hoped an assassin’s bullet put him out of his misery, as with the rest of this silly film.

31 MayCommercial Bar Stools – What to Look for in Stools if You Want Them to Last

Commercial bar stools are a great idea for any business. There are a few things you as the owner need to think about when you’re shopping for new stools. We’ve broken it down into three main categories. First of all you have to look at the durability of any product you purchase. Next there’s the importance of picking a good style. Finally and probably the most important is the price of the bar stools.

One thing about any good business is that they’re always thinking long term. With bar stools that is very important. Most bars, restaurants and other establishments will go through a number of redecorations or makeovers over the years to keep them looking fresh and up-to-date. It’s important that you get your commercial barstools versatile enough so you don’t have to get new ones every time.

As a business owner you want your establishment to very appealing and inviting to your customers. When doing your décor it’s important not to forget how these great barstools will fit in. It’s usually best if you try incorporate neutral colored stools into the mix. Try to avoid bright colors and loud bold patterns if possible. (Unless that’s the look you want) They’re easier to work with color wise and they usually have nice clean looks.

As we all know, commercial stools take a lot of abuse especially if their in a really busy bar, restaurant, hair salon, or other establishment. (That’s what we all hope for as business owners) Most of the customers don’t really think about how they treat their seats. You can almost guarantee yourself that over time there will be a lot of wear and tear on these stools. What you want to get are stools that can take the abuse. Try to look for ones that are made out of solid harder woods that have a thick protective varnish on them. You could also use ones made of hard metals. The seats on the stools should be either solid surfaces (wood or metal) or a fabric that is easy to clean a repair like vinyl.

Don’t forget that your new business venture is likely to have small décor makeovers as the years go by. So you don’t have to spend the money and buy new stools every time (unless of course you want to and they need it) it’s import to remember to get stools with neural colors and somewhat toned down styles.

To get more information and ideas of what commercial bar stools can do for your business you have to do your research. Explore all your different options and possibilities as there are a number that will work very well. The internet is a great place to start. 29 May3 Tricks For Adding Mass to Your Arms

Bodybuilders have developed lots of tricks and techniques for increasing the intensity of their upper-arm workouts past the point where inexperienced weight lifters would fail. Here are three of the best ways to make sure you are not wasting your workouts:

Grip strength is the key to progress

Your forearms are the key that unlocks upper-arm size. Without a strong grip, your upper arms — the biceps and triceps — won’t get enough training stress to really make them grow. In short, unless you have a strong grip and lots of muscular endurance in your forearms, they’ll give out before your larger, stronger biceps and triceps are fully exhausted. And when that happens, growth in your upper arms stops dead.

So, with that in mind, let me show you how to keep your upper-arm gains coming, long after they would have stalled if you don’t use these techniques.

One, you must work on your forearm conditioning. Forearms are responsible for grip, and without a strong grip you’re not going to get anywhere.

High-rep sets of forearm curls are the best way to build strength and prevent injuries in the forearms, wrists, and hands. Since there is very little muscle in this part of the body, you’ll want to work out in a way that builds strength and resilience in the connective tissue (the ligaments and tendons that facilitate your grip) of the lower arms, wrists, hands, and fingers.

Using an ez-curl bar (or, less ideally, a straight barbell), sit on a bench with your forearms resting on your knees and perform high-rep sets of wrist curls. Keep the reps above 20. Remember that you’re not training the muscular strength as much as you are training the endurance and the tendons.

Reverse wrist curls are good too, but they mostly train the muscles and connective tissue that strengthens the thumb, and as such aren’t quite as important as orthodox wrist curls. Behind the back forearm curls are a favorite of most advanced bodybuilders. Use them when you’re after strength rather than conditioning.

Always do your forearm training after your upper-arm training. If you do it first, you’ll be unable to give anywhere near 100% effort on your biceps and/or triceps exercises. In addition, since the forearms take longer to recover from intense exercise than most other muscle groups, you are probably better off training them heavily only once per week.

Finally, to really increase your grip strength, get some inexpensive weight lifting straps. This way, you will have a rock-solid grip without needing to worry about hand strength. In fact, you can train to increase your grip strength in various ways, but it’s still a good idea to use wrist straps during your heaviest sets of “pulling” exercises like pull-ups.

Get big biceps by showing them no mercy

Your bicep growth will stall if you don’t fully exhaust them every time you work out. It’s not enough to just go through the motions and do what you did the last time you were in the gym. Instead, you have to keep pushing for a new level of accomplishment. If you didn’t do more than you did the last time, you’re not making progress.

But the problem with pushing to the max is that it can often put a lot of strain on the elbows and wrists. Long-term biceps training is notoriously hard on these joints. Thankfully, bodybuilders have come up with a simple solution: the ez curl bar.

EZ-curl bars are cambered: the gripping surfaces are angled so your wrists and elbows are properly oriented during your arm exercises. When you lift using one of these cambered bars, you’ll be able to lift more weight because of the minimum strain on your joints.

This is probably the simplest and most effective way to increase the intensity of your arm workouts without increasing the risk of injury.

Tricep training — it’s all about angles

Good tricep training is difficult. It’s hard to get a full contraction of the triceps using dumbbells or a barbell. Angling your body so you get resistance through a full range of motion sometimes makes you feel like a contortionist. It helps if you have an incline bench, but it’s still tough on the joints.

But again, with an EZ-curl bar, you make your triceps training much more effective because you can do close-grip bench presses (which heavily stress the triceps), then lying (or standing) triceps extensions to blast the remaining stubborn muscle fibers. Don’t overlook the value of an ez bar for triceps training.

27 MayVentilation is a Must For Residential Steel Buildings

Of course what is a must for all buildings irrespective of the material that is used for the construction of the building is that there should be proper ventilation in the building, but this is an absolute necessary feature for all residential steel buildings. The reason for this is that these steel buildings are all susceptible to condensation inside the building which can be very harmful for people living inside the building. It is for this reason that before that construct of residential steel buildings it is always made sure that the contractor or the steel builders who have been given the project are made clear on the necessity of proper ventilation inside the building and they make all the provisions for it with whatever accessories that are necessary.

The usual accessories that are needed to build proper ventilation inside these buildings are the ridge vents and louvers and circular vents as well so you must make sure that the constructors are making use of all these. Of course you have to calculate how much ventilation the steel building will need, depending on how big the building is supposed to be and where it is being constructed and not to mention what the building is finally going to be used for. Cross ventilation created properly inside such a building should make matters better and all this ventilation should be calculated properly by the constructors and gone over by you as well before the final approval for the construction is given.

25 MayThe Different Types of Radiant Barrier Products in the Market Today

Radiant barriers are installed or applied in houses to reduce the summer heat gain and reduce the winter heat loss. Radiant barriers help in reducing building heat and cooling energy usage. The radiant barriers are made up of reflective materials that reflect off radiant heat rather than absorbing it. They are designed to block the effects of in-house radiant heat gain by reflecting the radiant heat back to the direction of its source. Radiant barriers come in many forms including some of the ones described below.

Foil radiant barrier is the most popular and useful form of radiant barrier insulation. It is made of aluminum and requires air space to be effective. The radiant barrier aluminum is applied to one or both sides of a number of foil substrate materials. The substrate material may include kraft paper, plastic films, cardboards, oriented strand boards, air infiltration material among others.

The foil radiant barrier comes in a couple of different variations including the single-sided foil with reinforcing material such as Kraft paper or fiber webbing, the foil-faced roof sheathing that has a foil facing adhered to one side of the sheathing, the double sided foil with reinforcement between the foil double layers, foil-faced insulation, reflective radiant barrier chips and the multi layered foil systems.

Reflective radiant barrier chips are blown onto the floor of the attic, approximately three or more inches deep. The chips, with their many trapped air pockets within the floor of the attic, act similarly to multi-layer products to reduce heat transfer through the ceiling assembly. When buying a foil radiant barrier ensure that it is perforated to keep the foil from condensation and subsequent water damage.

Paints are a more affordable form of radiant barrier. They come in varying colors and can be purchased and applied to either the inside or the outside of the house. Paints are mostly effective when applied on the solid surfaces particularly the attic or the basement of the house. When purchasing such paints always check on the reflectivity so as to maximize on the paint’s radiant barrier ability.

Spray foam is the cheapest of all the radiant barriers though it does not give the best results. It is simply sprayed-on just like you are using a can of spray paint. In addition to its radiant qualities you can use spray foam to seal some cracks and other sources of air leaks in the house. Spray foam will require periodic re-spraying to obtain optimal results.

19 MayCustom Golf Balls 101

Golf has been around for ages. The most accepted fact is that it came from Scotland in the 1100s. Although it is a very popular game, it is not as popular as basketball which was just invented in the 1900s. Probably, the game is not as physical as sports are expected to be. Also, golf as a sport appeals to the upper-income class only, simply because the equipments are expensive and there are not much golf courses where everyone can play on for free. And with this income bracket of players, it is only normal that businesses involved in the sport offer several personalized items like custom golf balls, customized golf clubs, and etcetera.

Since the balls are small-no heavier than 1.620 ounces and no smaller than 1.620 inches-golf balls have become accessories, too-from key chains to bag tags to alarm clocks, to mementos and keepsakes, and so on.

The golf ball of today has undergone a metamorphosis and is much different from the golf balls used in the early thirteenth century. The original or ancient golf ball was made wood. In the 17th century, people used feathers for golf balls and the golf ball was called a featherie.

The featherie was hand sewn and was made of leather. Inside the leather are goose feathers enough to fill a top hat. The leather and feathers are then boiled so the feathers would expand and the hide would shrink during cooling. The downside of this type of golf ball was that it was not durable in all weather conditions. If it got wet, the stitches cut loose and the golf balls burst when they hit solid pr hard surfaces. However, the combination of the feather and the leather and their properties when boiled and cooled gave satisfactory ball flight characteristics to players so it lasted as the standard golf ball for more than two hundred years.

Now, the golf balls we use are made of several materials from titanium to surlyn and urythane to hybrid materials. Golf balls have several numbers of layers and each type has a name apt to how many layers it has. A single layer golf ball consists of a single core, and a two-piece has two layers, and so on. This is because each has a characteristic that will suit the needs of who ever will play the ball-amateur or professional.

Custom golf balls are very popular to golfers who want to have something personal printed on their golf balls. Other companies also order custom golf balls as giveaways during conventions or meetings of corporate executives. Some people customize theirs for the sheer pleasure of it, just about the same way you customize your car plates.

You can print practically everything-your name, company name, date, a one-liner, just about anything that you want. Custom golf balls are not recommended for play, though, because you do not know if these balls are refurbished. If they are, they will certainly affect the spin of the golf ball once hit. The big players in golf ball manufacture are brands like Titleist, Callaway, Nike Golf, Bridgestone, Ben Hogan, Dunlop, Precept, and Top Flite.
